Latest Release
The latest release is version 1.2 (April 18th, 2008), which requires Java 6, GlassFish v2 and PostgreSQL 8.1. To download the packages for this release, go to the official DVN SourceForge.net project site. See the online Installers Guide for detailed information about how to install the software.
New features in this release include:
- Dataverse Network moved to Java 6
- Forgotten password option available at login
- User-friendly file type names listed in study pages
- Header row included in downloaded tab-delimited files
- Download of ZIP files for harvested studies supported
- Download of subsettable files in both tab-delimited and plain text format supported, when plain text is available
- Network Admin notified by e-mail of harvest progress
- Network Admin notified by e-mail on creation of new accounts and dataverses
- Metadata mapped among standards supported: DVN, DC, DDI, and FGDC
- Citation added to DDI document description, and to DC metadata export in Abstract field
- New Network Admin option provided for administrative utilities:
- Update Search index for some or all studies in Network
- Release file locks on demand
- Export manually some or all studies
- Harvest manually some or all studies
- Apply JHOVE file format validation manually to selected studies
- Import studies by using a batch file (Study ID validated for invalid characters on import and edit)
- Configurable error logging levels available
Future Releases
Version 2.0 is planned for release in June of this year. It includes numerous improvements to workflow and search functions, as well as a DSB rewrite to improve function and simplify installation.
